Journals
A leading applied mathematics journal, Communications in Mathematical Sciences features high-quality, original research articles, review and expository papers, and fast communications. This journal covers modern applied mathematics in modeling, applied and stochastic analyses and numerical computations on problems that arise in physical, biological, engineering and financial applications.
Guidelines for SubmissionsTo ensure a speedy refereeing and publication processes, all transactions and comminucations between the journal and the authors will be done electronically. The official CMS email address is: jcms@math.wisc.edu CMS Journal Secretary, Teresa Wang at jcms@math.ac.cn Authors should submit manuscripts in PDF or postscript files by e-mail to the official CMS e-mail address above. Submission of a manuscript acknowledges that the paper is original and has not been submitted elsewhere. Information regarding the preparation of manuscripts is provided below.
Preparing and Submitting ManuscriptsManuscripts should be submitted in English, French or German. Pages must be numbered consecutively and not by section or paragraph. Authors are required to include a brief abstract. The abstract should make minimal use of mathematical symbols and should not contain displayed formulas or bibliographic references. The body of the paper should begin with an introduction stating the purpose of the article and summarizing the principle results. Bibliographic references should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper. The format for references can be found in our current issues. Authors should consult Mathematical Reviews for the standard abbreviations of journal names.Fast communications will be limited to 10 pages; Movie descriptions will be limited to 2 pages. Authors are strongly encouraged to prepare their manuscript in LaTex2e and to use the CMS class file cmslatex.cls. The class file, necessary style file, fonts, and a template are available in a compressed format for your convenience:
To download, right click on the link and choose "Save Target As..."
The template file explains the use of cmslatex.cls and allows you to begin typing immediately. Properly prepared LaTeX2e manuscripts allow more control over the appearance of your manuscript in the journal and can be more rapidly and accurately typeset. If there are figures in the manuscript, they should not be executed by hand, but should be done using a software compatible with the rest of the manuscript in such a way that they can be computer generated. The preferred method for figures is "eps" files. Page proofs will be sent to the corresponding author electronically. Corrections are expected to be returned within one (1) week.
Copyright AgreementAuthors are required to print and sign the International Press Consent to Publish and Copyright Agreement:
OffprintsAuthors will receive fifty (50) complimentary offprints.
Speed of PublicationMost articles will appear in SIX (6) months from the submission date; Fast communications will appear in THREE (3) months. In order to guarantee that there is no backlog for the journal, the publisher may increase the number of pages for each issue occasionally.
